Former Sunderland boss Jack Ross has admitted that he didn't want the cameras to follow the team when he was in charge.

The Scotsman took over at the Stadium of Light at the start of last season, with Netflix producing a documentary on the campaign - which was released at the start of the month.

Even though Ross stated that he got on well with the production team, he told Chronicle Live that in an ideal world he wouldn't have had the cameras in and around the training ground and the dressing room.

"I never complained about it, but I said right from Day One that it would have been my preference not to have the cameras there. I was there to be a football manager, not a TV star."

The documentary detailed the Black Cats season, which ultimately ended in failure as they lost 2-1 to Charlton in a play-off final.
