‘Come of age this season’ – These Oldham fans discuss on-loan Leeds man after latest eye-catching moment

Oldham Athletic picked up their first win since the appointment of Keith Curle as the club’s manager on Tuesday night, beating Exeter City 2-1 at Boundary Park.

After Kyle Jameson has given the Latics the lead before half time, Alfie McCalmont doubled that advantage ten minutes into the second half, with Jack Sparkes’ midway through the second period not enough to get Exeter back into the game.

That goal from McCalmont was his fifth in 26 league appearances for Oldham this season, with the midfielder currently on loan having joined the League Two side on loan from Leeds United during the summer transfer window.

Indeed, that strike on Tuesday was particularly impressive, with the 20-year-old volleying in off the under side of the crossbar from the edge of the area, for what would prove to be the matchwinner.
