Plenty of Stoke City fans have reacted to Jonathan Walters' message on Twitter as their club continues to search for a new manager following Nathan Jones' departure last week.

The 36-year-old, who retired from football earlier this year following a two-year stint at Burnley, enjoyed a fruitful spell with the Potters during his playing career.

After joining Stoke from Ipswich Town in 2010, Walters fired in 12 goals in all competitions during his debut season at the bet365 Stadium.

The forward's finest hour for the Potters came in the FA Cup semi-final in 2011 as he netted a brace against Bolton Wanderers to help the club set up a showdown with Manchester City.

Reacting to Ryan Shawcross' positive comments about the club' supporters, Walters recited the city of Stoke's coat of arms on Twitter.
