Brentford published their accounts for the year to June 30th 2019 yesterday, boasting a profit margin of £20 million.

Matthew Benham and co have turned Brentford into a cash cow. Their unique recruitment system has allowed them to bring in players like Neal Maupay, Said Benrahma, and Ollie Watkins to name a few, all for measly fees.

Maupay arrived for little over £1.5 million in 2017, and left for Brighton last summer in a deal rising to £20 million - Ezri Konsa also left Brentford with a profit last summer, with his £12 million move to Villa.

Even with a new stadium in construction, Brentford's player sales sees them become one of the most profitable clubs in the Championship, and Brentford fans are mocking Preston manager Alex Neil because of it.

He made some fiery claims about Brentford amongst other clubs yesterday, saying that 'clubs who furlough staff should receive a transfer ban' - both Brentford and Leeds have made use of the scheme, and both sets of fans lamented Neil for it.
