Steve Bruce has had his hands tied somewhat this summer at Villa Park.

The club is on the verge of financial disaster and the only want it looked like the Villains will be able to add to their side is if they are to get in loans and free signings.

John Terry, who was on a hefty wage has left after the club failed to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Jack Grealish, James Chester and Johnathon Kodjia have all been liked with moves away from the club as a fire sale looks to be imminent at Villa.

With the impending influx of younger players to fill gaps Villa are financially unable to fill, money saved on wages will need to be reinvested in to the club as best as possible.

The bargain bin raiding Bruce will aim to do to add balance and experience that will be nice needed.

So, here are three players who are unattached that could well be on Bruce’s summer shopping list as the economy drive Villa Park begins.

The former West Bromwich Albion man was a colossus in the Premier League for the baggies during his is eight years at the club.

His no-nonsense approach and ability to win all in a midfield battle made him a fans’ favourite a The Hawthorns.

Yacob would give 100 per cent commitment in what could be a scrappy season for Villa - something the Argentinian would be more than comfortable with after West Brom’s basement battles in recent seasons.

After losing John Terry and potentially James Chester, Bruce will need to recruit to fill the gap and fill it with the experience he has lost, and could potentially lose.

The 34-year-old played for Aston Villa between 2009 and 2012 and his experience of playing for the club in what is a vital season for the club would be invaluable.

Bruce should move quickly bring Collins back to the club ahead of the new season.

The winger made eight appearances in West Bromwich Albion’s relegation season last year and at 32-years-old still has a plenty to offer — especially in the Championship.

Villa would be ideal for the former Baggies man who has the experience Bruce's men will need to be competitive in the Championship next season.

A long-range goalscoring expert with a deadly set-piece, Morrison would be a relatively decent replacement for the outgoing Robert Snodgrass who has gone back to his parent club West Ham after a successful loan spell.
