Colin Cooper not targeting anything

Colin Cooper is say he is not targeting any total of wins as Hartlepool United look to break into the playoffs.

Hartlepool are nine points behind the final playoff place in Sky Bet League 2 ahead of their meeting with Cheltenham at Victoria Park.

“There’s no point saying we need to win six games out of seven or whatever, we’ll just do the best we can in every game and see where it takes us,” Cooper told BBC Tees.

Hartlepool have been unable to find consistency in recent weeks, winning only one from the last five league matches. Despite this, Cooper is pleased with his players.

“I can’t take issue with the effort and commitment the players have given me. At times we lack consistency, or are a bit naïve, but that’s how things are. We crack on and do the best we can,” Cooper said.
