Sunderland are really looking down the barrel of relegation to League One now with less than ten games to go in the Championship.

The Black Cats have had a woeful season this year in the Championship with them never getting to grips with the football in the second tier and now back-to-back relegations are on the cards.

The Wearsiders have got to get a win this weekend against Preston ideally, then, and Chris Coleman has looked to drum that in with him saying that they have to believe in themselves but that time is running out:

The former Wales boss has certainly had it tough this year but he has always remained firm in the belief that his team can get out of trouble if they just apply themselves.

Indeed, he's always said that they are the only ones that can sort this and fans will be hoping that some of their players start taking the bull by the horns at this late stage.

The Verdict

Sunderland need to beat Preston this weekend but that is certainly going to be tough when you look at how things have gone this season.

Every time Coleman has looked to rally his troops he has not got the result he's wanted and now the club doesn't have many chances left to turn it around.
