Colchester United have sacked manager Tony Humes after winning only one league game since September, according to Sports Journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Thus run included an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Wigan and a 4-1 defeat to Millwall.
But perhaps the final nail in the coffin for Humes was the 3-2 home defeat to bottom of the table Crewe.
They were 2-0 up in the game but then buckled in the last half an hour to lose 3-2 and now they only sit one point outside of the relegation zone in Sky Bet League One.
Colchester had started the season well with them winning four of their six games in September, but since then, just one win in 10 league games has seen Humes get the sack.
Colchester have been particularly weak at the back this season and have conceded a massive 14 goals which is more than any other team in England, and is an average of conceding more than two a game.
Humes who was nominated for Manager of the Month in September has now been sacked after four straight defeats, and it is likely that the assistant will take charge for their tricky trip to third place Burton Albion at the weekend.
