Colchester plot a move for former Porstmouth and Newcastle striker

Colchester United are plotting an audacious move to sign former Portsmouth and Newcastle fan favourite Lomana LuaLua according to Gazette News.

The 33-year old is currently a player at Turkish club Rizespor but speculation of the potential move arose when LuaLua replied back to a tweet sent to him by a Colchester fan.

Colchester manager Joe Dunne has also refused to rule out a move to bring him back to the club he played for from 1998 to 2000 during which he was adopted as a fan’s favourite.

His contract with Rizespor still has 12 months left on it but it is thought that Colchester are willing to buy him out of the contract in order to pave way for him to join the club.
