Sunderland suffered yet another Sky Bet Championship defeat at the hands of Mark Warburton's Nottingham Forest at the Stadium of Light last night.

A solitary Daryl Murphy goal condemned the Mackems to their fourth consecutive league loss, leaving the side in 20th spot in the league table after seven games.

Simon Grayson's side have only picked up one victory all season, a 3-1 win away at Norwich City on the 13th August.

Grayson came out after the match and feels that Sunderland should not have lost the match, emphasising how well he thought his side played against Forest.

Speaking to the club site, Grayson said:

"It was a game we certainly didn’t deserve to lose.

"I thought we played well, with intensity, and we limited them to very few opportunities

"We passed the ball well and we looked a threat going forward. Ultimately, we just couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net or get the breaks that we deserved.

"It was a cruel blow for Tyias [Browning] to make the mistake for their goal because up until then him and Marc Wilson were very solid at the back. We were punished for the only real mistake we made in the game.

"We’ve got to keep believing in ourselves,"

It's fair to say, these comments did not go down well with the majority of Sunderland supporters, who were exposed to yet another abject performance from their team.
