Sky Bet Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Jay Dasilva in the summer, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a hugely impressive loan spell with the Robins this season, making 32 appearances for Lee Johnson's side who narrowly missed out on a top six finish.

The full-back more than stepped up to the plate after the departure of Joe Bryan to Fulham last term, and it is now believed that a host of clubs are tracking the youngster's signature ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

Bristol City are one of those sides looking at the option of signing him this summer, but it is also believed that QPR are interested in signing the Blues youngster.

Mark Warburton will be looking to get his feet properly under the table at Loftus Road this summer, and after letting go of left-back Jake Bidwell upon the expiry of his contract, a replacement is needed for sure.

Dasilva is yet to make a senior appearance for Chelsea since emerging through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge, so they will be hoping that their young defender receives regular game-time elsewhere next season.

The Verdict

I think Dasilva has been one of City's unsung heroes this season, and he has flourished since leaving Stamford Bridge on loan.

He displays so much athleticism and power down the flanks, and is just as good at going forward as he is at going backward.

At 21 years of age, he has a massive future ahead of him, but he needs another loan spell in the second tier to keep on developing as a player, in my view.
