Spanish side Almeria are interested in signing Birmingham City midfielder Fran Villalba, according to La Voz de Almeria.
Villalba only joined Birmingham last summer from La Liga side Valencia, but the 21-year-old has failed to establish himself.
Signing a three year deal with the Blues, it now seems like his time at St Andrews will come to an end and a return to Spain will now develop.
Almeria currently sit second in the Spanish second division, and they are looking to bolster their squad ahead of what they hope is a promotion push.
The report claims that a loan deal is on the cards for Villalba to move back to his homeland.
The young midfielder began his career with Valencia, developing through their youth ranks – before a loan stint with Numancia led to a move to Birmingham.
17 Championship appearances for Pep Clotet’s side has not done enough to impress with his only goal coming against Middlesbrough back in October.

A six month loan move is expected, but what will that mean when the deal ends…
