Trabzonspor are interested in re-signing Stoke City midfielder Badou N'Diaye on loan next year, according to reports from Turkish media outlet Sporx.

The 29-year-old joined the Turkish side on loan from Stoke in January, after falling out of favour under Michael O'Neill despite being a key player under former boss Nathan Jones.

Since joining Trabzonspor, N'Diaye has scored one goal in nine appearances for the club, helping them challenge for the Turkish Super Lig title; they currently sit top, level on points with Istanbul Basaksehir.

After making a real impact since moving to Turkey, it is now said that Trabzonspor wish to re-sign N'Diaye next season, with his future at Stoke up in the air.

The Turkish outfit do have the option to purchase the midfielder for a reported €8m, but due to the club's finances, another loan deal looks to be the only way of luring him back to Turkey next season.

With Stoke's place in the Championship far from likely just yet, O'Neill will be looking to slash the club's wage bill and get rid of high earners such as N'Diaye in the summer.

The Verdict

I think it would be best for Stoke to part ways with N'Diaye this summer, whether that's on loan again or a permanent move away.

He really impressed me under Jones and looked to suit Championship football, but managers have their favourites and it's fair enough that O'Neill didn't want to use him.

By all accounts, he's performed really well for Trabzonspor and if he's settled over there, he should be praying to re-sign for them.
