According to reports in the Gazeta Metro, Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu is wanted by Albanian side FK Kukësi.

The Owls striker was frozen out by former manager Carlos Carvahal during his time at Hillsborough, after the 28-year-old has only started 2 of the 9 games he's featured in this season.

FK Kukësi are the Albanian champions, and are managed by a former boss of the Sheffield Wednesday striker Peter Pacult from their time at Rapid Wien.

Now, into his final 6 months of his current contract with the Owls, it doesn't like he'll trigger an extension with him becoming surplus to requirements thus far.

Especially after coming out to admit that he believes his future at Hillsborough is looking less than convincing after speaking to The Times. As he stated; "If it's time for a change, then it's time for a change.".

Nevertheless, with no manager currently in charge of the Sheffield Wednesday side it will be difficult to see him making the move without an appointment. Although, his future does look bleak in Sheffield.

The verdict

Sheffield Wednesday wouldn't be too bothered to see him go, yet a move that would suit the striker.

After being used as a target man off the bench to chuck on in times of need, his 1 goal so far against Ipswich Town just goes to show how ineffective the tall striker has been.

With the likes of Jordan Rhodes already misfiring, it looks like there's going to be some major reinforcements at Hillsborough.

In desperate need of answers attacking areas, but Nuhiu isn't the solution.
