West Ham have completed the signing of Said Benrahma on loan from Brentford until the end of the season, the Premier League club have confirmed.
Benrahma had been a target for the Hammers throughout much of the summer transfer window, and the Premier League have now got their man, albeit in somewhat unclear circumstances.
Although there is an agreement in place for Benrahma’s move to The London Stadium to be made permanent next summer, reports have claimed that that is subject to the attacker passing further fitness tests, after issues came up in the player’s initial medical with the Hammers.
As a result of that, it is thought Brentford have received an initial £4million loan fee for Benrahma, with the potential to earn up to £26million – including addons – more if the move is made permanent.
Regardless of that, Benrahma will be available for David Moyes to call upon for the rest of the 2020/21 season, providing he is fit enough.
Having joined Brentford from Chateauroux back in the summer of 2018, Benrahma went on to score 30 goals and provide 25 assists in 94 appearances in all competitions for the Bees.
Taking to Twitter to react to news of Benrahma’s departure, plenty of Brentford fans were keen to give their views on the Algerian’s departure from the club.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
Now we can get on with our season.
Now its time to get behind the lads who want to play for OUR team.
No one knows if the new signings are an improvement, time will tell. But my goodness we are suppose to SUPPORT our team surely.
If ur hoping the lads lose 2moro u are not a fan.

This actually seems a clever deal for us. We don’t necessarily need the money this season but have essentially guaranteed the transfer income for next season, something that will be vital during these times.

What a very strange bit of business…… To be fair, I’ll miss Ollie far more.

That's actually pathetic. Knew he was leaving but didn't think we'd roll over and let them do this. £4m up front… jesus
