Football League World's Queens Park Rangers fan pundit Louis Moir has spoken of his admiration for 32-year-old midfielder Marc Pugh, with the veteran having been used sparingly by Mark Warburton this term.

The former Bournemouth man joined the west London side back in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer and has quickly established himself as an important component of the R's squad, despite starting just six games.

We caught up with Moir late last week to discuss the impact that has been made by Pugh since he arrived at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and here is what our fan pundit had to say on the 32-year-old:

"I was delighted when we signed him as you knew he’d bring that experience to the squad.

"Marc Pugh is a very clever and technical footballer.

"His best qualities are when he receives the ball and he looks to beat his man, he doesn’t have that pace he used to have but with that extra bit of quality he can still be useful playing in that wide midfield role.

"He turns 33 in April but I would actually like to see the club offer him another years deal to keep him.

"His experience is vital especially to the younger players, just like Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron showcase on a regular basis.

"As mentioned when he’s played he’s looked good, he can still offer much needed quality on the pitch as well as off it."

With 18 appearances to his name, it is clear that Warburton still see's Pugh as a key member of his side and as a result the veteran could well secure a new contract with the west London club.

Meanwhile, the R's will be seeking to pick up yet another victory on Friday when they play host to Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
