Reading start a new era tomorrow against QPR as Paul Clement begins the task set out in front of him.

The former Swansea man arrived at the Championship strugglers during the international break after replacing Jaap Stam who had endured a very tough campaign.

Clement, then, needs to have an instant impact with a tough run-in for the Royals ahead and so a reaction from his players is going to be needed.

With that said, then, would it be in the new boss' best interests to make some bold selection calls in order to shake things up?

Sometimes that can get everyone on their toes and trying hard so let's see who the new man could potentially bring in to try and have exactly that effect on his squad...

John Swift comes in and out of the side but Clement should back him and start him on the regular.

He's got plenty of talent and is fearless in getting on the ball and driving at opponents.

Now is not the time to go into shells - something the club has done a lot this year - and so playing Swift should start sparking the team into life.

Kermorgant is on the decline and is not the player he was even last season but perhaps this new regime might just breathe some new life into him.

He's not got long left in his career but he'll surely want to end it on a high and having an impact in the remaining games to keep the club up would mark that.

He's got experience and a good footballing brain, both of which the club needs to get some positive results.
