‘Clearly isn’t working’, ‘Time to move on’ – Many Bristol City fans criticise one man following Birmingham drubbing

Bristol City’s inconsistencies reared their ugly head once again last night after a damaging 3-0 loss away at Birmingham City.

Just days after a home win over Barnsley to snap their three match losing streak, the Robins took two steps back after taking a step forward.

City were down 1-0 at half-time to the Blues thanks to a Riley McGree goal, and the second half saw Lee Bowyer’s side seal the victory thanks to strikes from Scott Hogan and Gary Gardner.

Quiz: 30 questions about some of Bristol City’s best ever players – Can you score 100% correct?

1 of 30

1. Did Louis Carey ever win a trophy with Bristol City?

It’s been a tough opening third of the season for the Robins, who haven’t quite kicked on under Nigel Pearson as many fans would have hoped.

The ex-Leicester City manager was brought in as a person who had won promotion from the Championship and like most seasons the goal for the Robins will be the play-offs, but they seem a long way off that right now with just five league wins out of 16 matches played.

Pearson wasn’t helped when the likes of Famara Diedhiou turned down a new contract to remain at the club and whilst fringe players were let go, they weren’t particularly adequately replaced.

Now Pearson is in the firing line of the fans and they’re deeply unhappy with what they’re seeing right now – and many are calling for his head.
