Daniel Farke insists that Nottingham Forest are still top-six contenders despite the Reds' disappointing start to the season.

Forest travel to Carrow Road to face Farke's Norwich City side this evening, on the back of losing four of their last five league games.

At the weekend, Forest succumbed to their ninth league defeat of the season, losing 2-0 to Reading at the Madejski Stadium thanks to goals from Lucas Joao and Michael Morrison.

Forest sit 21st in the Championship after 16 games, only two points clear of the relegation zone ahead of tonight's clash at Carrow Road.

Farke - whose side sit level on points with AFC Bournemouth at the top of the Championship - has insisted that Forest are still top-six contenders, despite their start to the season.

He said: "I don't judge Nottingham Forest on their position now, I judge them by their potential. They are still challengers for the top six.

"They have an experienced coach and I think they are one of the best teams in the offence in the league. It is just a question of time until they start an unbeaten run. It is not if more when."

Plenty of Forest fans have since reacted to Farke's rather optimistic comments, with many feeling that the Reds are in a serious relegation battle.
