Footage has emerged on Twitter that provides a new angle on Leeds United's penalty shout late in the 1-1 draw with Preston North End last night, which has led many Whites fans to change their view on the decision.

Leeds needed a late goal from substitute Eddie Nketiah to salvage a draw at Deepdale after Tom Barkuizen had put the home side ahead.

With the scores level in the 94th minute, Tyler Roberts went down in the Preston box after a lunge from Ben Pearson but referee Kevin Friend waved away Leeds' appeals for a penalty.

The Whites players were clearly angered by the decision, as they continued to complain to the referee after the final whistle and Ezgjan Alioski described it as an "unbelievable" decision after the game.

However, a new angle of Pearson's challenge and the penalty appeal that appears to have been filmed from the away end has emerged on Twitter, which seems to show that Friend made the correct decision.

LUFC_Whites posted the video on Twitter last night and it has got the Elland Road faithful talking.

This is not the first controversial penalty decision Leeds have been involved with this season, as Gaetano Berardi was sent off after conceding a contentious soft spot-kick against Millwall.

The new angle of the latest refereeing decision appears to have changed the mind of many Whites fans, however, with some even going as far as praising the referee.
