Fans have taken to social media to react to Alex Neil’s nomination for the Sky Bet Championship manager of the month.
The 38-year-old has guided North End to third in the table after 11 games, with his side’s performances in September earning him a nomination for manager of the month.
He is up against three fellow Championship managers in Garry Monk, Slaven Bilic and Sabri Lamouchi.
All of their teams played three Championship games in September, with Neil, Bilic and Monk earning seven points, whilst the Nottingham Forest boss picked up maximum points with three wins out of three.
Although, with one of the lowest budgets in the Championship, many believe the performances that Neil has got from his Preston team should earn him the award.
The Lilywhites began the month with a comfortable home win against Brentford before getting their first away win of the campaign, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win against Birmingham after a first half strike from Sean Maguire.
The former Norwich City boss then faced fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City in a tough game at Deepdale, shortly after playing Manchester City in the Carabao Cup just a few days prior.
Despite trailing the game on two occasions Preston fought back to earn a 3-3 draw and continue their unbeaten home record in the Championship.
Here are some of the responses to Neil’s nomination…
Surely he has to win this with the run of form we have had and the brilliant performances we have been producing. ANSWA 😀

After an emphatic 5-1 victory over Barnsley, Neil’s side will face a trip to Reading after the international break as they look to continue their positive start to the 2019/20 season.
He will find out whether he has won the award on Friday 11th October.
