Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul has urged the club's youngsters to stay at Carrow Road beyond this season, amid reported interest from the Premier League.

The likes of Max Aarons, Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey have all had a phenomenal season, flourishing under the management of Daniel Farke and playing their part in helping lift the Sky Bet Championship title this season.

Plenty of high-profile clubs have declared an interest in the young trio this season, with Manchester United reportedly after Godfrey, and the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur believed to be chasing Aarons.

But speaking to the Mirror about the prospects of the youngsters joining these high-profile clubs in the summer, Krul urged them to keep their feet on the ground and remain at Carrow Road for at least another year.

He said: "We all know when the big money is going to be offered, heads are going to get turned, but if Manchester United come in at 19 or 20 years old, there is no point sitting on the bench.

“They have to play. I will tell them. The money will come to these lads. When you look at how well they have done this year, some of them were in the U23s last year and no-one knew about them.

"Now they are massively sought after talent and rightly so. Every credit being thrown at them, they deserve. But what a chance for them to play week in week out if they stay. I can't wait to see them on the big stage next year.

"Max Aarons is 19 now, can you imagine to have won the Championship and have a year behind him in the Premier League, that is more important than anything."

Krul knows what it takes to be a top Premier League player, having been a key player for Newcastle United earlier on in his career - the Dutch shot-stopper has been an everpresent for the Canaries this season, guiding them to the league title.

The Verdict

I think that the likes of Aarons, Godfrey and Lewis should all snub interest from Premier League sides in the summer, no matter how much money they offer.

They are playing their best football under Farke, but they might not be guaranteed playing time by any of these top-flight sides should they make the move.

It would be wise for them to stay at Norwich next season, then re-assess their options the year after.
