Bolton Wanderers striker Clayton Donaldson has taken another swipe at the current situation engulfing the club, mocking the fact that players had been asked to bring their own water to training.

Owner and Chairman Ken Anderson has been under fire for a while now amid rumours that staff and players have not been paid for their recent work.

Posting on his Instagram story, Donaldson shared a video from the club’s dressing room along with the caption “when you’ve got to bring your own bottle of water.”

Bolton are in deep trouble in the Championship this season, currently sat second from bottom and seven points from safety with just 11 matches left to play.

This weekend sees them welcome Millwall to the University of Bolton Stadium, a match that was nearly called off due to safety fears earlier in the week.

The verdict

I know a lot of people will look at Donaldson’s story and thing ‘so? Your a professional footballer. You can afford your own water and a month without pay.’

But why should they? They clearly signed agreements saying that food and drink would be provided and that payment would always be on time.

Bolton are in an absolute mess and are absolutely doomed to play League One football next season.
