The off-the-field problems surrounding Bolton Wanderers don't seem to be getting better anytime soon, and relegation to League One is looking more and more certain each week.

The Trotters are currently sat 23rd in the Championship table and are struggling for form at the worst possible time of the season.

The Bolton News had reported this week that the players weren't due in for training on Monday, but players who were continuing their recovery from injuries were told not to come in over a shortage of food, drink and supplies at the club's training ground.

Bolton striker, Clayton Donaldson has revealed on his Instagram story that the players are back in training today ahead of a crucial game against Millwall this weekend.

Donaldson has struggled to make a notable impact for Phil Parkinson's side this season and only has one goal to his name so far in this year's league campaign.

Nothing seems to be going right for the Trotters on or off the pitch, and there has also been a statement released by part-time staff over the wages that they are still yet to receive from the club for February.

If Bolton are to have any chance of retaining their Championship status, they will need to pick up a positive result against Millwall this season, or they are all but relegated.

The Verdict:

What a sorry state this club are in.

The fact that the players are paying for their own food just says it all really.

They are financially ruined at the moment, and I can't see it getting any better if Ken Anderson stays in charge of the club.
