The financial issues that are seemingly never-ending at Bolton Wanderers at this moment in time are showing no signs of letting up.

Reputable journalist, Alan Nixon revealed that the Bolton players still haven’t been paid their February wages, which has resulted in the players voicing their concerns to the EFL over the matter.

But they’ll have to turn their attentions to a crucial game in their season against Sheffield Wednesday this evening, a game in which could go a long way in deciding which direction their season heads in.

Clayton Donaldson insisted that he is remaining focused on the task at hand with Bolton this season in a recent post on his Instagram account.

Donaldson has been in poor form this season but will be hoping to to find the back of the net against an Owls side who have looked like a completely different side since Steve Bruce took charge.

The players will be keen to give the Bolton supporters something to cheer in this one, as they aim to make it back-to-back wins after a narrow win over Millwall at the weekend.

It seems like a difficult task for Phil Parkinson’s men though as they battle to retain their Championship status this season.

The Verdict:

It’s difficult for them to focus.

He might say that they are thinking positively, but I just can’t see them not being affected by all of the financial issues that are troubling the club.

The longer this takeover drags on, the more it’s going to affect performances on the pitch.
