Clayton Donaldson issues heartwarming message to Bolton Wanderers fans after recent announcement

Last season was certainly a season to forget for everyone associated with Bolton Wanderers, with the club struggling financially whilst also being relegated from the Championship.

It’s led to a mass exodus at Bolton, which has been far from ideal as they look ahead to next year’s campaign in League One in the coming months.

One player that did depart the club was Clayton Donaldson, who has recently signed for League Two side, Bradford City.

Donaldson took to Instagram following the news, and issued a heartwarming message to the Bolton supporters after his departure.

Donaldson struggled in front of goal for Bolton last season, and only netted 1 league goal as the Trotters were relegated back into League One.

The off-the-field troubles stole the headlines throughout the season, but it has recently been revealed by BBC Sport that the club are set to be taken over by Football Ventures.

He’ll be keen to hit the ground running at Bradford, as he’s a player that could certainly be playing at a higher level than League Two with the Bantams.

Bradford will be one of the favourites to win promotion from League Two next season, and Donaldson will be hoping to play a starring role for the Bantams in next year’s campaign.

The Verdict:

They’re finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

There seems to be more progress being made at Bolton heading into the summer, which can only be a positive for everyone associated with the club.

The sooner they can get new owners into the club, the quicker they can turn their attentions to their League One campaign next season.
