Curtis Davies thanked the fans and congratulated Fulham after the play-off loss.

The 33-year-old joined the club in the summer from Hull City as Gary Rowett wanted to solidify his defence by giving Richard Keogh an experienced centre-back partner. This has worked well because the defence has been used as a platform to produce results by the rest of he team with only 48 goals conceded in the regular season.

Davies has been one of Derby's most consistent performers this season, and this extended to the play-off semi-finals as well. He was crucial in nullifying Aleksandar Mitrovic and blocking the central passing lanes in the first leg, which hindered Fulham's play significantly and allowed the Rams to come away with a 1-0 lead.

However, the second leg was much harder even though he put in another top performance and limited Mitrovic's influence once again. He was unable to stop Fulham from advancing to Wembley with a 2-0 victory.
