Stoke City have a new man at the helm, and he will need to hit the ground running at the Bet 365 Stadium, and getting going in the January transfer window will be a key component to that.
Nathan Jones was appointed on Wednesday, a day after sacking of now former boss Gary Rowett.
There has been issues in the Potters personnel this season with the players that the since-departed manager signed in the summer.
And with a new manager, will come a change in system and an inevitable change in personnel to get the right blend of players into the club after August’s failings.
With that said, here are FOUR players that Stoke should submit enquiries for next week…
Having already identified Moritz Bauer as a player that suits the style and system Jones wants to use at the Bet 365 Stadium, he could well want a player of similar style on the opposite flank.
James Justin is that man.
The Luton town left-back is only 20-year-old with an abundance of talent who had previously been linked with Leeds United.
His growth and ability at present could be more than enough for Jones to look to add to his side.
Having not played too often since his move to West Brom, Hoolahan could be a target for Jones at Stoke.
With Sam Clucas and Ryan Wood, the new Potters boss has two fairly young players in the middle, just ahead of what is expected to be Joe Allan in the holding role.
Adding the former Republic of Ireland international could give them added experience in the middle of the pitch and will give the two Stoke boys a wealth of experience to learn from.
The combination of Ryan Shawcross and Ashely Williams has not been as effective as many would have thought this season.
The pair have looked unsure at times, with Williams the one of the two less than impressive when asked to play with the ball at his feet.
Liam Moore of Reading could be the perfect player to aid Jones’ new side in the defensive department and give him an escape route out of the sinking ship at the Madejski.
Stoke City have a plethora of attacking talent at their disposal, but not all of them will conform to Jones’ style he wishes to implement at the club.
One player in hot demand is Portsmouth’s, Jamal Lowe.
At 24-years-old he is the perfect player for the new Potters boss to go in for.
Eleven goals this term from an advanced position, he could be just what Stoke need in the second half of the campaign in attack to get them into the play-offs.
