Nottingham Forest have posted a clip of Teddy Sherringham's first goal for the Reds, which has left many fans of the club waxing lyrical about their former striker.

Sherringham made nearly 500 club appearances during an illustrious career, which involved an early spell at the City Ground.

The English striker signed from Millwall in 1991 and spent one season with Forest, helping them to finish eighth in the First Division before he was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspur the following summer.

It didn't take Sherringham long to open his account for the Reds as he scored for the first time in the third league game of the season – a 4-0 win over Notts County.

With EFL games suspended due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Forest posted the video on their Twitter today to help fans get their fix of football.

The video has caused many of the City Ground faithful to reminisce about their former striker, with some taking to Twitter to wax lyrical about just how good he was during that season.
