‘Class player,’ ‘I love you’ – Many West Brom fans react to 25-y/o’s moment against Nottingham Forest

Plenty of West Bromwich Albion fans have heaped praise on Callum Robinson after he scored his first goal for the club against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday’s lunch-time kick off saw league leaders West Brom host a Forest side that were beaten by lowly Charlton in midweek.

Holding a six point lead over second placed Leeds United heading into the game, Slaven Bilic’s side looked to further extend their lead prior to Leeds’ game later in the day.

The game was a fairly even affair but it was the Baggies who opened the scoring when Robinson struck his first goal since joining the club in the January transfer window.

Robinson’s strike was expected to hand West Brom a lead going into the break, but Kyle Bartley suffered some misfortune – putting the ball into his own net just moments before the referees whistle.

The second-half continued in the same vein as both sides looked for the next goal, and it was the home side who found it when Jake Livermore’s cross came off Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo and went past keeper Brice Samba.

Bilic’s side looked likely to seal all three points, but again Forest scored last on to steal a vital point.

Full-back Matty Cash was on hand to net and give Sabri Lamouchi’s side a superb away point and end to the week, after their midweek disappointment.

Following the draw, Baggies fans took to social media to heap praise on Robinson.
