West Brom fans will have been delighted to see Alex Palmer progress to the Sky Bet League One play-off final with Lincoln City as the Imps saw off Sunderland in the semi finals at the weekend.

The 24-year-old shot stopper has been on loan at Sincil Bank since Septembers of last year from the Hawthorns and has made a big impression under ex-Baggies boss Michael Appleton.

A product of Albion’s academy, Palmer has featured in an astonishing 56 games for the League One side this term and will once again need to be in good form if he is to secure his side a place in the Championship next season.

Despite his age and experience, the keeper is yet to make his Baggies bow at first team level.
