Stoke City have confirmed that keeper Jakob Haugaard and experienced midfield pair Darren Fletcher and Charlie Adam will leave the club when their contracts expire this summer.

The news was announced on the Potters official website and is the start of what could be a very busy summer for Nathan Jones.

The former Luton boss will be wanting to make his own mark on the squad in the window and plenty of departures are expected from the Bet365 Stadium.

It's fair to say that this brought a positive response from Stoke fans, although many did appreciate Adam's years of service.

The former Liverpool man has been with the Staffordshire club for seven years and played a part as they recorded three successive top ten Premier League finishes.

However, the past few years have been struggle, which of course resulted in relegation last season.

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Fletcher has been at the club for two years, whilst Haugaard joined in 2015 but they won't really be missed.
