‘Class’, ‘Clearly better than Romeo’ – These Millwall react to 22-year-old’s performance in the FA Cup

Millwall put in a professional performance to place their name into the FA Cup round four draw, defeating Boreham Wood 2-0 away from home.

Goals from West Brom loanee Kenneth Zohore – who has just recently returned from a long injury lay-off – and wing back Scott Malone secured a victory for the Lions over the brave National League outfit.

Gary Rowett named a strong line-up to face the Hertfordshire side, with the likes of Jake Cooper, Ryan Woods and Shaun Hutchinson all starting.

They were utterly dominant as they had 28 shots to their opposition’s four – eight of those 28 being on target – and the scoreline really should have been more comfortable.

Did Millwall sign each of these 14 players for more or less than £500,000?

Millwall did get a tad fortunate in the second half though when Jake Cooper should have been sent off for a second booking according to reports, but he remained on the field as the Londoners secured their win.

Rowett handed a chance to some youngsters, including Tyler Burey on the wing, but it was right wing back Danny McNamara who stood out the most to Millwall fans.

The 22-year-old Irishman has just been recalled from a loan spell at St Johnstone in Scotland and was immediately thrust into the line-up today, and more-than proved he’s ready to battle Mahlon Romeo for a starting spot.

Millwall supporters have been reacting to McNamara’s performance that will leave Romeo fearing for his place – check out the best reactions below.
