‘Class act’, ‘Stellar performance’ – Plenty of Luton Town fans react to 22-year-old’s cup display

Luton Town booked their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup last night courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Ipswich Town, with one player in particular producing an eye-catching performance for Graeme Jones’ side.

Signed on a season-long loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day, Izzy Brown made an instant impact on his debut by providing a sumptuous assist for Lloyd Jones’ opening goal at Kenilworth Road.

Excellent throughout the clash with the Tractor Boys, the 22-year-old was eventually substituted in the 66th minute by Jones with the Hatters already holding a 3-0 lead over their lower league opponents.

Although Ipswich managed to pull a goal back Armando Dobra, Luton held on to set up a meeting with Championship rivals Cardiff City.

Championship Picks

For Brown, it must have been a relief to emerge unscathed after a myriad of injury issues limited him to just two appearances for Leeds United last season in what turned out to be a miserable loan spell at Elland Road.

After the Ipswich clash, Brown tweeted: “Feels good to be back out there.”

Upon reading this comment, plenty of Luton fans reacted in a positive manner on the social media platform by praising the forward for his display.

Here are some of the best responses from the club’s supporters…

Brown could be in line to keep his place in Jones’ side when Luton host West Bromwich Albion in the Championship on Saturday.
