Eoin Doyle opened the scoring for Evatt's men on 24 minutes, with last season's top goalscorer in League Two adding another goal to his tally.

Jordan Turnbull turned the ball into his own net shortly after the hour mark, too, securing a 2-0 win and an invaluable three points for the hosts.

Last night also saw veteran goalkeeper Matt Gilks make his first appearance for the club, after arriving on a free transfer from Fleetwood Town in the summer.
