Swansea City are gearing up for a busy old summer in the transfer market.

The coming weeks look set to play a massive role in how the Welsh club plan for the future with the Swans battling to secure promotion to the Premier League.

A spot in the top two was the original target, but with Norwich City and Watford already promoted it means that they're now preparing for the arduous task of conquering the play-offs.

The dramatic showdown will decide what league Steve Cooper's side will be playing in next term - something which will play a huge role in deciding how the club approach the summer transfer window.

A number of players have already been linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium, so how could Swansea City's team look on the opening day of the new season?

We take a look.

The goalkeeper will almost certainly be a transfer target for Swansea City.

Woodman has spent the last two seasons on loan with the Swans and has really impressed in the 90 appearances that he's made for the club in that time.

He's set to return to parent club Newcastle United this summer, but it remains to be seen what the future will hold.

Should Swansea secure promotion then you'd firmly expect them to make a permanent move for the stopper, while if they are in the Championship again then perhaps another loan move could be pursued.

Either way I'd certainly back Steve Cooper's side to pull out all of the stops to try and sign him this summer.

A player who will undoubtedly attract interest this summer.

Connor Roberts has been a big player for Swansea City during the last three years but this season he has really kicked on and established himself as one of the best in the Championship.

Whatever league the club finds themselves in, Roberts will be a big player.

If they get promoted then he'll relish the challenge of being in the top flight, however if they stay in the Championship then Steve Cooper's side could struggle to keep him.

However there's no doubt that Swansea will try and hold firm and that's why I expect him to be there again next term.

A player who has all the making of a future club legend.

Ben Cabango has only been in the first team fold during the last two seasons but he now looks like a player who is more than comfortable there.

Most frighteningly, at the age of 20 he's only going to get better.

Clubs are likely to be sniffing around the Welsh centre-back but Swansea will be confident of keeping the player next term.

If they do there's no doubt that he'll be a big player for the club.

A player who will certainly be on Swansea City's transfer wishlist.

The defender is currently on loan from Premier League giants Chelsea and has really enjoyed his season at the club after making 55 appearances during his time at the club.

But with his future at Stamford Bridge in question it means that a move back to South Wales could be on the cards.

Swansea are keen to sign the player this summer and so it'll be interesting to see where he ends up at the end of the season.

One thing we know is that Swansea City will be determined to bring him back to the Liberty Stadium.

A player who has really stepped up this season.

After a fairly average first campaign with Swansea City the jury was out on Jake Bidwell who joined the club from Queens Park Rangers in 2019.

This season, however, he's been excellent.

Bidwell has made 41 appearances for the club so far this term, creating nine goals after adding an attacking element to his game.

If he can do the same next term then there's no doubt that he'll keep his spot in the side.

The Swansea City captain is certain to be in the side next term.

Matt Grimes has been a central figure for the Swans since breaking into the starting XI three seasons ago and has rarely looked back.

So far this term the 25-year-old has made an impressive 46 appearances for the club as he looks to see Steve Cooper's side over the line in their hunt to secure promotion.

Regardless of what league the club find themselves in, I'm sure that Grimes will be leading them out on the first day of the season.

Another player who has been central to the club's success this term.

Jay Fulton made his debut for Swansea back in 2013-14 but had to wait until the 2018-19 campaign to really establish himself as a first team regular with the Swans.

The 27-year-old has made 143 appearances for the club since his debut and is now regarded as a key player for the Welsh side.

This term Fulton has made 42 appearances for Swansea and will now be hoping that he can play a part in helping the club to secure promotion to the Premier League.

The midfielder will almost certainly be a transfer target for the club this summer.

Conor Hourihane had fallen out of favour with Aston Villa when he was allowed to join Swansea City on loan during the January transfer window - a decision that I'm sure he's happy with.

Since then the 30-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Swans in the Championship, scoring five goals and getting two assists.

His introduction has been massive in helping the club to sustain their spot near the top of the table, and he'll surely be big in their efforts to secure promotion.

With his future likely to be away from Villa Park, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him head back for Swansea next term.

A player who is likely to be one of the hottest prospects in the EFL this summer.

Jonson Clarke-Harris has enjoyed a wonderful season with Peterborough United after scoring 31 goals in 46 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The 26-year-old has played a key role in securing promotion to the Championship and that's why so many clubs are said to be interest.

Football League World exclusively revealed that Swansea City and Cardiff City were keen on a move for the player, and given the club's current position it wouldn't be a surprise to see Steve Cooper's side make a move this summer.

Another player who has been linked with a move to Swansea City.

Stephen Humphrys has enjoyed a good season for Rochdale after scoring nine goals and creating four more in 27 appearances for the League One club.

At 23 years of age there's plenty of room for improvement in the young forward and that's why he's attracted so much interest.

Reports from The 72 have claimed that Swansea have joined Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest in the hunt for the player who may well be given a chance to prove himself at a higher level this summer.

If he does move to the Swans, he could be the ideal replacement for the seemingly outgoing Andre Ayew.

A player who will surely be in Swansea City starting XI next term.

Jamal Lowe only moved to the club last summer but has really hit the ground running after scoring 14 goals in the Championship this season.

The 26-year-old has caused plenty of problems for opposing defences due to his versatility by leading the lines and drifting out to the flanks as well.

It's exactly that which ensures he'll be a key player for the club next season.
