Thomas Christiansen’s side has warned Leeds United that they must be wary of Matt Smith and Conor Washington when they come up against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this weekend, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post’s, Phil Hay.

QPR have already claimed the scalps of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United at Loftus Road this season, and will be looking to add play-off chasing Leeds to that this weekend, when Christiansen’s side travel to London.

Leeds sit narrowly outside the top-six heading into the weekend, trailing the play-off zone by five points, which they will be looking to cut at Loftus Road.

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash, Christiansen has highlighted QPR’s strikeforce of Smith and Washington as their biggest threat, warning Leeds that they need to be even more focused against a team in the bottom-half of the Championship table.

So far this season, Smith and Washington have bagged nine goals between them in the Championship for Ian Holloway’s side, with the powerful duo likely to hand Leeds’ defence a test of their physicality tomorrow at Loftus Road.

Smith spent a solitary season at Elland Road, scoring 13 goals for Leeds during the 2013/14 campaign.

The Verdict

Smith and Washington have scored goals this season, and the duo will certainly test Leeds’ centre-backs, who you would expect to be Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper.

However, whilst Christiansen is focusing on where QPR are strong, he will also have recognised where they are weak, and will have been drilling into his Leeds players to play their own game at Loftus Road tomorrow.

If Leeds hit their straps, they will take some stopping.
