Thomas Christiansen has refused to draw on Mateusz Klich’s future at Elland Road, amid reports that the Leeds United ace could be on the move this month, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post’s, Phil Hay.

Leeds have moved to bring Adam Forshaw to the club in a £4.5m deal, with the former Middlesbrough man arriving to bolster the club’s central midfield options ahead of the second-half of the season.

Klich has made just one start in the Sky Bet Championship, which came back in September. The 27-year-old’s only other opportunities have come from the bench or in the cup competitions, but Forshaw’s arrival is likely to push him further down the pecking order.

Christiansen refused to be drawn on Klich’s immediate future, but according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, there is interest in the midfielder from abroad and he is likely to be leaving the club on-loan this month.

Klich was an unused substitute last week for Leeds against Ipswich Town, and it remains to be seen if he is involved tomorrow, when Christiansen’s side return to Championship action against Millwall at Elland Road.

Christiansen has confirmed Forshaw isn’t set to feature, but he will welcome Ronaldo Vieira back into his first-team squad.

The Verdict

Klich’s time at Elland Road has been a disaster, and this month is probably the right time for him to get some space away from the club.

Forshaw’s arrival has been well received at Leeds, but the 26-year-old is likely to be pushing for the starting XI and that will leave Klich down the pecking order even more.

It looks set to be a lively end to the transfer window for the Whites.
