Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Thomas Christiansen has confirmed that Leeds United are looking to make more signings this summer, but remained tight-lipped on the club’s targets.

Leeds have chosen to keep their transfer targets under wraps, a regular theme under Andrea Radrizzani’s new regime at Elland Road.

The Sky Bet Championship campaign is under a week away now, with Leeds still actively looking to add players to their squad ahead of the new season.

When questioned about how many players Leeds were looking to sign, Christiansen remained tight-lipped on a number and the identity of those players, he said:

“I don’t know how many players but we are working on that to try to take or have the most competitive team that is possible. We are looking, put it like that.”

One area Leeds are looking to strengthen is their attacking options, as Christiansen looks to add goals to support last season’s top scorer, Chris Wood.

The identity of Leeds’ targets has not been revealed, but recent reports have suggested they were interested in signing Ashley Fletcher, who has since joined Middlesbrough.

Whilst signing Spanish striker, Alvaro Negredo, is likely to be too expensive for the Championship outfit.

Leeds begin their Championship campaign against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

The Verdict

It has been a successful summer for Leeds, with plenty of new arrivals already at Elland Road.

Thomas Christiansen is looking to put the icing on the cake and add the final touches to his squad, ahead of what he hopes, will be a successful campaign for Leeds.

Another striker or forward player to assist Wood in the goalscoring department would be well received, but Leeds are in desperate need for defensive reinforcements to replace Charlie Taylor and Kyle Bartley.

If their replacements are found, Leeds could find themselves competing for the top-six.
