Sheffield United made a long-awaited return to the Premier League, as their promotion rivals, Leeds United dropped crucial points against Aston Villa at the weekend.

It meant that the Blades confirmed their promotion back into the top-flight, which supporters will feel as though is a long time coming.

One man that deserves a huge amount of credit for their promotion-winning season is Blades boss, Chris Wilder, who has taken his side back into the promised land.

Sheffield United have gone about their business quietly this season, and Wilder recently claimed that Leeds should be focusing on themselves instead of the teams around them (quotes sourced from Sheffield United's Youtube channel).

"We've had one defeat in 13 and I've got muppets from Leeds talking about the pressure being on us.

"(Patrick) Bamford and (Adam) Forshaw and a couple of others. It's over to you and this, that and the other.

"They got beat seven times since Christmas. We've been beaten once. We've set it up from Christmas to be in the race and we've steamrolled it."

This was certainly a bold statement to make, but you can understand where the Blades boss is coming from with what he has said after winning promotion.

Leeds spent far too much time worrying about other teams in the league, and supporters will feel as though the Whites have blown a huge chance to return to the top-flight.

There's no doubting that Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England, and that will always be the case, but you simply can't rely on other teams to help you out in the race for promotion.

When results didn't go their way, some of the Leeds players put the pressure on the Blades, which they responded in the perfect way by picking up vital wins.

Leeds need to focus on themselves heading into the play-offs, as that is a complete lottery now, where form goes completely out the window.

If they continue to stutter in their form heading into these season-defining games, then they can forget about winning promotion this season, with a summer of uncertainty likely if they don't.
