Sheffield United look set for an interesting summer ahead, as manager Chris Wilder looks to tweak his squad and ensure they are capable of once again mounting a charge at the playoffs.

The Blades, who finished tenth last term, will be armed with something of a war chest following the sale of David Brooks, and United fans will be excited to see who the club has in mind in terms of bringing in replacements and new faces.

A few positions at the club will need adding too, but in particular, there is space up front for one or two players to come in and make a real impact at Bramall Lane, with only Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke as proven options in the squad at the moment.

One player we at FLW could be a superb addition for United is current Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn, who notched an excellent 16 goals last season for a Tractor Boys side who struggled in the main.

Waghorn has bags of experience at Championship level and is a proven goalscorer at the level too, something which will appeal massively to United boss Wilder.

Good in front of goal, strong for his size, and not the slowest, Waghorn would certainly be an upgrade on the current strikers at Bramall Lane if  a deal could be done between the two clubs.

Blades fans, what do you think? Would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
