Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has called on his players to help each other out after another individual error saw them lose to Leeds on Saturday.

A poor pass by John Egan sent keeper Dean Henderson out wide and he inexplicably passed the ball to Jack Clarke who squared for Pablo Hernandez to tap in.

That's the latest sloppy mistake to cost the Blades, with a late goal against Rotherham a week before also highly avoidable after a series of errors.

And, Wilder told the Sheffield Star that the players need to stop making successive mistakes:

"One mistake, I told them last week, can't become two mistakes. If someone makes a mistake, which will happen, then someone else has got to be ready to cover or dig them out.

"Everyone is going to get things wrong. No matter how hard to try and eradicate that, it's human. It's life. But what shouldn't be allowed to happen are situations were one becomes two or even three."

A run of one win in five games has seen the Blades drop down to sixth in the table and only goal difference keeps them in the play-offs.

Wilder's side will look to get back to winning ways this weekend when they face a struggling Reading side.

The Verdict

It's been a tough spell for the Blades and Wilder is right in what he says, they need to stop making so many errors.

It has cost the side points in the past few weeks and they won't be in the promotion mix if things carry on this way.

However, there's no need to panic and the team are still in a good position, but this should be a clear warning to the players that they need to improve.
