Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has admitted that he doesn't see the club losing any players in the January transfer window.

The Blades have plenty of saleable assets in their ranks, with the likes of John Fleck, Enda Stevens, and Jack O'Connell all having excellent seasons once again, but Wilder, speaking to Radio Sheffield's Andy Giddings, said he would be surprised to see any players leave.

The statement from Wilder will no doubt please Blades fans, who have become accustomed to the club selling their top talent over the years, as was demonstrated last year, when the club sold David Brooks to Bournemouth after a big bid arrived.

However, Wilder is clearly hoping to add too, not decimate his squad, and he has already made his move in the market this winter, with Kieran Dowell signing for the club on a loan deal from Everton.

The Blades played out a pulsating Boxing Day fixture against Derby County, with United running out 3-1 winners thanks to an inspired second half showing at Bramall Lane.

The Verdict

This is great news for the United faithful, with the transfer windows always something which make the club's die hards nervous.

Keeping the likes of O'Connell and Stevens will be vital, and United could well see themselves in the top six picture if they can add more names too.

Dowell is a good signing, and more of the same in terms of incomings, while preventing outgoings, will be just the ticket for Blades fans.
