The future of Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson is the hot topic of conversation at the moment, with Sheffield United keen on signing him this summer.

It had previously been revealed by the Manchester Evening News, that Henderson is keen to return to Sheffield United for another season on loan.

In an interview with the Press Association (quotes sourced from The Independent), Blades boss, Chris Wilder issued an update on their pursuit of the shot-stopper.

"We’re working our way through it.

"We’ve been in discussions with Manchester United and I think they see it as a positive that he gets a year of Premier League football under his belt."

Wilder also insisted that there is a good working relationship between the two clubs, and is keen to get a deal over the line in the near future.

"We’ve got a good relationship with Manchester United and if Dean signs we’ll be delighted."

The 51-year-old was full of praise for Henderson and predicts that the shot-stopper has a bright future in the professional game.

"He’s been outstanding since he's been at the club. He had a fantastic loan period at Shrewsbury, he's kicked on and has a wonderful future ahead of him."

Wilder's comments suggest that it could only be a matter of time before they reach an agreement with Manchester United, which seems as though it'll be the best move for all parties involved.

The Verdict:

This is a promising update if you're a Sheffield United supporter.

Henderson evidently wants to come back to Wilder's side, and I would be amazed if the Blades didn't get the deal over the line in the transfer window.

It's only a matter of time before the deal is confirmed in my opinion.
