Sheffield United continued their magnificent start to the season with a 2-1 win over Reading on Saturday and boss Chris Wilder promised there will be no letting up for his players.

Victory kept the Blades in touch with Cardiff and leaders Wolves, whilst creating a four-point gap to fourth place.

Leeds occupy that position and they are next up for Wilder's men, in what should be an exciting local derby.

The game is played on Friday night for TV coverage, so the Blades know that they can top the league for at least 24 hours with a win. And, that's all their manager is focused on. “I'm just interested in winning games of football and the players are exactly the same,” he told the official site.

After many pundits and fans put United's excellent start down to momentum, people are now starting to believe they are the real deal, given the quality they have shown in recent weeks.

As well as that, the team spirit and togetherness of the group is evident and Wilder is pleased with how his team approach games. “The atmosphere in the dressing room is first class and we're enjoying life back in the Championship. We want to go out there and win matches, playing on the front foot from the first minute through to the 95th and I'm delighted we're doing that.”

The Verdict

Chris Wilder deserves huge credit for the job he has done at Bramall Lane and his side look a real force this season.

Not only are they getting results, but the team possesses real quality that cannot be underestimated and his attitude to the game is refreshing.

They have a huge game against Leeds on Friday night that will be another major test for the Blades, that they will be looking forward to.
