It's been another superb start to the Championship season for Sheffield United, who sit level on points with table topping Leeds United heading into the weekend.

Chris Wilder's Blades entertain a Hull City side that they will fancy brushing aside at Bramall Lane today, and there's every chance United could go into the international break top of the pile if results can go their way elsewhere.

Of course, it is a long old season in the second tier, and Wilder will not be getting too excited about the potential for a second promotion in three seasons, but he does have every reason to be optimistic at the very least.

One of the key periods of the season for the Blades will come in January, when the transfer window opens and the busy fixture list over the Christmas period can take it's toll on players, meaning fresh faces could well be the order of the day.

With that being the case, we at FLW think that Doncaster Rovers striker John Marquis would be a superb addition for the Blades.

The £250k valued forward has once again been in red hot form for Rovers, smashing in eight goals already and impressing yet again with his movement and finishing.

Wilder and United are used to working to tight budgets, and barring the £4m capture of John Egan in the summer, are not the sort of club who are going to go out and spend millions again, making Marquis the ideal sort of target.

Marquis would no doubt love to test himself in the Championship, and a move across Yorkshire to Sheffield could appeal massively. There is definitely a talent there with Marquis which can be harvested further, and Chris Wilder might well be the man to develop the 26-year-old further.

Blades fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
