Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has revealed that he hopes new signings will be at the club within the next week or two, as he looks to add to his squad ahead of the Championship season.
The Blades haven’t been too busy so far this summer, although they have brought in Dean Henderson in what was a big addition.
However, they are on the lookout for more players, particularly forwards, and Wilder told the Sheffield Star of the importance of bringing in new faces and revealed he expects arrivals to be confirmed soon.
“It’s important because there will be times throughout the season when they need each other, and we’ve got that in abundance. It needs to keep growing, and it will do – with the new players coming in and the players that will join in the next week or two.”
The Yorkshire club have been linked with Scott Hogan and Sam Gallagher among others in recent weeks and funds shouldn’t be an issue after talented youngster David Brooks completed a £12m move to Bournemouth earlier this month.
This is good news for Blades fans and there’s no doubt that they need some new additions.
After a good first season back in the Championship they will feel they can kick-on and go for a top six finish but it’s about adding quality.
And, going from Wilder’s comments it’s clear that deals are at an advanced stage and now it’s about finalising them to back the manager with players he wants.
