Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has moved to confirm speculation surrounding striker Leon Clarke.

Following his side's 2-2 draw with Norwich City, Wilder admitted that there has been interest in Clarke from other clubs, and appeared to notion that he won't be worried about potentially moving on some of his trusted troops.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star following the game, Wilder admitted he isn't afraid to make 'big decisions', a comment which suggests that if he feels the deal is right for the club and the player, he won't be afraid to pull the trigger and allow Clarke to move on.

Clarke has been one of the key components for United since winning promotion from League One, and was the top scorer for the Blades last season in an impressive return to Championship football.

However, this term has seen David McGoldrick keep Clarke out of action, while the summer addition of Conor Washington and recent signing of Gary Madine have pushed the experienced ace down the pecking order.

The Verdict

Clarke has been superb for United but his time could be up, and sadly, he doesn't look like offering much during the run-in.

It's a tough one for Wilder to weigh up, with the boss probably wanting to keep the crux of his squad together in order to maintain stability within the camp.

Big decisions have to be made though, and as Wilder points out, he won't shirk making them at all.
