EFL on Quest pundit, Chris Powell, has stated that Sabri Lamouchi has got Nottingham Forest playing in a 'really solid way'.

The Reds made it nine games unbeaten in all competitions on Saturday after a 1-0 victory over Barnsley on Saturday.

Brice Samba was in excellent form as he kept Daniel Stendel's side at bay with a couple of brilliant saves.

Forest moved into the play-off places and will look to push on after this extremely promising start to life under their new manager. Lamouchi's side take on Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night with an opportunity to showcase their talents against one of the biggest clubs in England.

In the league, they face winless Stoke City on Friday night, knowing that victory would take them to the top of the table.

Speaking on EFL on Quest, Powell said: "They realised they were in a tough game and they showed their experience and knowledge about the division

"The manager has got them playing in a really solid way.

"[Brice] Samba has been playing very well this season and he came up with some great saves."

The Verdict

Chris Powell is spot on, the way to describe the way that Forest have been playing is 'solid' and that's what it has been.

Lamouchi has come in and been tactically brilliant as he looks to try and guide Forest into the Premier League. Away wins at Fulham and Swansea show that they know what they have to do to win games and are now capable of it.

It'll be interesting to see whether or not they can keep it up, or what would happen if main forward, Lewis Grabban, was to pick up an injury.

If they can keep out thinking the opposition then they'll have a real chance of promotion this season.
