Martin has not been a prolific striker in the Championship for some years now, but his output for the Robins was particularly impressive last term, bagging 12 times.

The Scotsman's back-to-goal ability makes him a huge asset for the Robins, with exciting up and coming talents like Alex Scott and Antoine Semenyo playing off of him.

The Verdict

By holding onto Semenyo, Scott, Han-Noah Massengo, and even Andreas Weimann at this stage of the transfer window is very impressive, and Nigel Pearson should feel like he has the best squad at his disposal in his time at the club.

The Robins went under the radar for the majority of last season, due to having little to play for at the top or bottom end, that could change from the off this season, with an improved away record and a healthier defensive process potentially putting them into play-off contention.

The Robins begin the campaign with a trip to Hull City, who have also caught the eye with some of their summer signings, definitely a good first fixture to assess where both teams are at.
